FEDERAL STATE BUDGETARY INSTITUTION "CENTRAL
SCIENTIFIC AND METHODICAL VETERINARY LABORATORY "
Chemical-toxicological department

The main activity of the chemical-toxicological department is the quality control of food products, food raw materials of plant and animal origin, feed, raw materials for their production.

All the researches are conducted according to the scope of accreditation of the testing laboratory., certificate № RA.RU.21MK09.

In the field of the chemical-toxicological department, laboratory researches are carried out within the field of state monitoring of the quality and safety of food products and researches of raw materials, products of animal origin, feed and biological material in order to ensure the quality and safety of food products.

The department is equipped with modern analytical equipment and due to this it is able to provide a reliable test result and confidentiality of the information received within the field of current legislation.

Laboratory tests are carried out using such research methods as:

  • enzyme immunoassay (equipment BioRad 680): research on the residual amount of antibiotics, hormonal drugs, mycotoxins
  • atomic absorption spectrometry (equipment of PerkinElmer: Elan DRC-e, Optima 7300 DV): researches on toxic elements
  • gas chromatography (equipment of Agilent Technologies, Bruker): studies on pesticide residues, fatty acid composition, detection of vegetable oils and vegetable-based fats
  • liquid chromatography, chromatography-mass spectrometry (equipment of Agilent Tehnologies, Bruker, Thermo Scientific): confirmatory method for determining residual amounts of antibiotics of different groups, preservatives, carcinogens
  • physico-chemical methods using various test and auxiliary equipment (luminescent photometric Fluorat-02-5M liquid analyzer, photoelectric concentration spectrophotometer KFK-3KM, liquid analyzer Expert-001-3-0.1, SNOL muffle furnace, CC centrifuge Oka, ThermoScientificSL centrifuge, SpeedWaveFour microwave system, etc.): determination of the mass fraction of albumen (protein), fat, acidity, calcium, phosphorus, salt, moisture and dry matter, etc.
  • radiological studies (cesium-137, strontium-90) are carried out using domestic-made spectrometric systems

Highly qualified specialists work in the chemical-toxicological department, who regularly undergo internships and training in EU countries, participate in interlaboratory comparative tests and successfully cope with the tasks
